Making DNS changes within your cPanel account

Authors list

Making a change to the DNS settings on a domain hosted within your website hosting account is straight forward and only requires a few steps.

Please Note: Changes made to your DNS zone in cPanel will only work if your domain's nameservers are pointing to your Micron21 service. If your DNS is hosted elsewhere, making changes to your cPanel's DNS zone will have no effect.

Method:

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. Under "Domains", look for the icon with the label "Zone Editor", then click on this to open the DNS Zone Editor

  3.  Click on "Manage" for the DNS zone you wish to edit. (Note: that this may look different depending on the cPanel theme selected)

  4. This will take you to the DNS zone editor interface where you can add, edit or remove DNS records.

  5. To add a new record, click on "Add Record". This will add a new line for you to add a record of your choosing. You can select the kind of record by selecting it from the dropdown menu.

  6. Alternatively, you may want to edit an existing DNS record, which you can do by clicking on the "Edit" button from the displayed list.

  7. Once you have added your record, you can click on the blue "Add Record" button.

If you have multiple records to add (such as an A, CNAME and MX record at the same time), you can click on the first "+ Add Record" button multiple times. We recommend this approach instead of adding records one at a time.
