Adding a SPF record to your DNS zone for Micron21 cPanel mail with external DNS hosting

Authors list

Overview:

Micron21 utilises powerful Ironport email security appliances to protect your outgoing email from spam. If you have your DNS for your website and email hosted externally to your cPanel service, you may need to add an SPF record to authenticate your outgoing email through these devices.

If your DNS is hosted through Micron21 (either through our M21dns.net service or FastDNS.com.au service) you should not need to do this.

Method:

  1. Log into your DNS provider's DNS editor. If you need assistance with this, you may need to reach out to your DNS provider for more information.

  2. Either add a new TXT SPF record or edit your existing TXT SPF record:

    1. If you have an existing TXT SPF record, add the below entry to it:
      include:spf.micron21.com

    2. If you do not have an existing TXT SPF record, add a new TXT record as below:
      v=spf1 include:spf.micron21.com +a +mx ~all

  3. Save your DNS zone with the new records.
