Overview:
Flushing your DNS cache can be useful in situations when a website's IP address has been changed but the local cache has not been updated. This can result in the computer using the old IP address, causing the website to not load correctly.
Windows method:
Open the "Command Prompt" on your computer. You can do this by searching for "cmd" in the "Start" menu.
Type the following command: "ipconfig /flushdns" (without the quote marks), then press enter.
You should see a message that says "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache."
Close the Command Prompt.
Mac method:
Open the Terminal application on a Mac or Linux machine.
Type the following command: "sudo dscacheutil -flushcache" (without the quote marks), then press enter.
You should see a message that says "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache."
Close the Terminal application.
