How to attach a Volume to an existing Instance in mCloud

This guide details the steps required to add a volume to an existing virtual machine (VM) in the mCloud Dashboard. After attaching the volume, you'll need to mount it within the VM's operating system. The process for mounting varies by OS, so consult your OS's support documentation if needed.

Method:

  1. Log into mCloud here: https://mcloud.micron21.com

  2. Navigate to Project > Compute > Instances

  3. Locate the VM you’d like to add a volume to then select the drop-down menu on the right and select "Attach Volume"

  4. Select the volume to be attached and click "Attach Volume"

  5. You will now need to mount the volume in the Operating System. This step varies by OS. If unsure, refer to your OS's support resources for guidance.
